Delhi World Public School, Ludhiana, Library is designed by keeping in mind 5 fundamental laws of Library and information science. This is a theory proposed by India’s father of Library science Dr. Ranganathan. Five laws of Library and information science are:

·        First Law: Books are for use.

·        Second Law: Every reader his or her book.

·        Third Law: Every book its reader.

·        Fourth Law: Save the time of the reader.

·        Fifth Law: The Library is a growing organism.

 Delhi World Public School, Library fosters the development of life-long learning abilities and a love of reading in the students through celebrating various. National and International days. Our school library is uncluttered, attractive, friendly and Wi Fi enabled. The Library stocks a wide range of resource material along with displays and promotion of different geners and author to encourage students to read widely. Story Narration, Enactment and Book-Review Writing is the regular feature of our Library.

The teaching of research skills to all students is done on high priority basis to make students competent enough to do the research methods like encyclopedias, magazines, reference books & search engines to make their presentations or support their project work.

 Delhi World Public School, Library works on the important mission statement of UNESCO school library manifesto which states: “The school library provides information and ideas that are fundamental to functioning successfully in today’s information and knowledge based society. The school library equips students with life-long learning skills and develops the imagination, enabling them to live as responsible citizens”.
